Secondly, try to avoid eating too many fruits. You do need a small amount of sugar in your diet, obviously, and fruits are a good way to get them. However, you need much less sugar than someone without adrenal fatigue, so you should avoid eating too many. Try going for plums, pears, and apples instead of oranges and bananas, as well. They have a more healthy type of sugar, and they’re easier for the body to break down.

You especially want to avoid fruits in the morning. When you first wake up, your body tends to be hungry. It’s also been working on slow setting for the past eight hours, so it begins processing things with even more energy than it would otherwise. Fruit eaten first thing in the morning not only has the downside of the excess sugars, but adds that downside to the fact that breakfast digestion takes more energy than normal digestion. The one-two punch can wreck havoc on you for the rest of the day.

By contrast, you should be eating plenty of vegetables. You should ensure that you’re getting anywhere from six to eight servings of vegetables a day. Try cutting up carrots into sticks, and bringing those with you where ever you go. When you’re in need of a quick snack, you can snack on carrot sticks. Your body will thank you for it.

Other than that, you should be looking for whole grains and natural foods. Try to buy organic foods and supplements if you can. If you can’t, simply ensure that your foods are as high quality as possible. This will go a long way into helping your body process and digest the foods properly, and won’t cause your body to use up more energy than it needs. An Athletic Green’s Live Taste Test – Good?
